CMP1 Documentary Deadline

So that you guys are aware of upcoming deadlines.

• Production final deadline - 22/01/16
• Production draft deadline (peer feedback) - W/C 11/01/16
• Filming should be complete by 04/01/16 - this will allow three weeks to edit.

Editing demo will be on 04/01/16 - so ensure you have some footage.

Just a friendly reminder that all pre-production for your factual programming is due today (04/12/15)

• Either ensure work is fully completed and uploaded to your blog.
• Ensure all work is collated and printed ready to hand in.

Remember if you do not submit the work on-time, you will be penalised by only being able to achieve a PASS grade.

Mark scheme




 1.Present pre-production to a quality that reflects near professional standard.

–This can be done on-line via a blog, in a A4 ring-binder (with a contents page). All work should be word processed (storyboard excluded) and should be presented to the best of your ability.

2.Generate throughout and comprehensively detailed pre-production.

–This can be achieved through completing the full amount of pre-production dependent on your independent project. We will cover this on the following slide.

3.Apply pre-production to a specific media production.

–Ensuring that the pre-production matches up to your production. There should be similarities present and it should be obvious that you have followed your pre-production when creating your product.

• Storyboard
• Location scouting (for each location you film at)
• Risk assessment (for each location you film at)
• Cost of production - actual cost as well as proposed costs
• Schedule for each days shoot
• Cast + Crew List
• Materials list (what you need)
• Legal and ethical (talent release. permission to use soundtrack)
• Codes of practice - how your production would like with OFCOM

There is a variety of pro-forma available to you, which you can decide between. You could also make your own, there is no requirement on this.

Here is an excellent feature length stop-motion that you all should check out!

Mary & Max.

Mary and Max is a 2009 Australian stop motion animated dark comedy-drama film written and directed by Adam Elliot as its first animated feature film with music by Dale Cornelius and produced by Melanie Coombs and Melodrama Pictures. The voice cast included Philip Seymour Hoffman, Toni Collette, Eric Bana, Bethany Whitmore with narration by Barry Humphries. The film premiered on the opening night of the 2009 Sundance Film Festival on January 15, 2009.^[3] The film won the Annecy Cristal in June 2009 from the Annecy International Animated Film Festival, and Best Animated Feature Film at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards in November 2009. The film was theatrically released on April 9, 2009 by Icon Entertainment International.
